Battery

Evolution continues. New battery systems are being developed. VoltaMove has two types of batteries. NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries and SIB (Sodium Ion Batteries).

VoltaMove's Powerhouse

Clean Electricity – Clean Drinking Water.

In small (2 x 2 x 2 meter) and flexible container boxes, movable by car trailers, our battery systems are in use as mobile electricity storage, battery charging and power distribution units to supply the rural population with drinking water and clean electricity. Our reference container boxes in Tanzania, Senegal and in The Gambia are in use as local and as mobile electricity storage units. Power2Move.

Outboard Motors

Propulsion on water

We found out that the perceived value of electricity is higher in electro mobility. For fisherwomen, oystercatchers, and birdwatchers, we developed and tested outboard motors between 1.5 kW and 10 HP under real conditions in Africa. System improvements will be incorporated into series production.

Sun e-Ferry-01

Driven by the Sun

On the river Gambia, a first ferry for 30 passengers will be converted to electric propulsion in October 2024.

24 PV modules, 14 swappable sodium batteries and 2 x 10 kW electric motors are used to prove the concept that such ferries can run on solar power systems only between Barra and Banjul.

This project is sponsored by the German NGO Energie Dezent e.V.

VoltaMover

Affordable transport Solutions

We transform the way people move. VoltaMover is a 3-wheeler, a Keke, a Tuk-tuk, a Bajaji.

This electric vehicle is one of the most cost-effective transport solutions. It shall be assembled in The Gambia in spring 2025.

For now, the 48 V Sodium Batteries are being delivered from Germany. This local transport concept shall be further developed in East and West Africa.

2 Wheeler

Local Content!

One Gambian company will assemble electric vehicles in 2025. This local manufacturing concept set up a.) a spare part warehouse and b.) personnel capacities trained in maintenance to prevent broken vehicles from lying on the roadside as a scrap.

3 Wheeler

A simple power train.

The Technical University of Esslingen and the Stuttgart University for Media formed a team of 9 students and 2 professors for building a 3-wheeler. With a truck generator switched to a motor, the tricycle is driving with a Power-Pack through The Gambia.

4 Wheeler

We are proud to test our products in many different electric vehicles.

The first vehicles have already received their Power-Packs. From 2025, up to 25,000 vehicles shall be manufactured within a year. 4 units are installed per vehicle. This corresponds to an annual production of 100,000 Power-Packs.

Kiosks

Think global and do it local.

With decentralised solutions for decentralised needs we try to meet the demand of battery systems for supplying electricity. Battery charging times in the Kiosks and the actual use of the batteries in the vehicle can be decoupled from each other. This relieves the entire power grid at otherwise usual peak times.

Accessories

Simple installation & simple operation.

Stay connected with cables and plugs. We found fitting inverters and chargers.
